Our Instructor Marissa Katz is also a qualified Foundation Phase teacher and an experienced Remedial Therapist.
She implements many of the important school readiness skills into her martial Arts Classes.

Family Classes-Kids and Adults
These martial arts classes provide more than just physical fitness and self-defense skills. They also incorporate leadership and life skills that are essential for personal growth and development. Here are some ways martial arts classes can teach leadership and life skills:

GIRLS & LADIES CLASSES
These classes are training sessions specifically designed for women who want to learn self-defense and martial arts techniques in a comfortable and supportive environment. These classes are led by a female instructor who is an experienced martial artists themselves.
The classes include a combination of strength and conditioning exercises, drills, sparring, and partner work with Traditional Martial Arts.
One of the benefits of attending ladies-only martial arts classes is the opportunity to train with other like-minded women who share similar goals and aspirations. Many women find the supportive and empowering atmosphere of these classes to be very beneficial for their self-confidence and self-esteem.
In addition to physical training, ladies-only martial arts classes may also include discussions on personal safety, self-defense strategies, and mental and emotional preparedness for dangerous situations.
Overall, ladies-only martial arts classes provide women with a safe and supportive environment to learn valuable self-defense skills, improve their physical fitness, and gain confidence and self-esteem

SPECIAL ABILITY CLASSES
All our classes are inclusive but we do offer a unique Special Ability Class.
A Special Ability Martial Arts class is a smaller class, designed to be inclusive and supportive, with a focus on building self esteem in a fun and engaging way.
The class is small and tailored to the abilities of the individuals and may include modifications to the traditional movements and techniques to accommodate any physical or cognitive limitations.
The class includes exercises that help to improve motor skills such as hand-eye coordination, balance and agility. The focus of the class is on building self-confidence, discipline, and self-esteem, while providing a fun and healthy way to stay active.

BIG ME, LITTLE ME WARRIORS (BEDFORDVIEW ONLY)
Awesome new class for tots (2-4yrs)and their Mom or Dad
Enjoy some fun bonding time with your little warrior! Let them get all their energy out in a fun, nurturing environment.
This special class is designed for parents and their tiny tots to participate in together. The class focuses on energy release, body strengthening, focus, motor skills development and building self-confidence and self-esteem. It is a great way for parents and children to bond while also getting in a workout and learning some simple self-defense and life skills too.
Instructor Marissa Katz, is not only a 4th Degree Black Belt, Certified ATA Taekwondo Instructor, she is also a Remedial Therapist, with 30 years experience in Education.
